The Top mount Bridge is aged Chrome plated Stainless Steel Baseplate with 6 Aged Chrome Hipshot style Brass saddles. "They" say top load bridges give a little mory slinky feel on the strings, if so, I don't notice it very much, but maybe someone else would. There may be some tone/sustain considerations with top load, but it really feels and sounds about the same to my "shut up and play it" sensibilities.
Solid Body Swamp Ash routed for top mount pickups and controls. This guitar features a Light/Medium Relic Nitrocellulose Cream/White finish with yellowing and subtle checking. The Body profile is an augmented and slightly exaggerated version of a Jazzmaster-Style under a custom pickguard shape.
Handmade DWG 25.5" scale Neck with Maple fingerboard. 9.5" radius and DWG style oversized headstock. Super smooth satin/matte back of neck, sides and headstock. I did a "rustic grey" type of stain operation under the finish on the neck, really happy with how it turned out and fits the style of this guitar. Fret ends are rounded and fretboard edges slightly rolled, very comfortable neck. This neck is Medium thin at 0.82"-0.89". Frets are leveled, polished. The intonation and action are spot on and double checked before shipment.
Alnico 5 Handwound DWG Humbucker in the bridge and neck with aged nickel open covers. Pickup resistance is overwound 18.5K in the bridge and slightly underwound 7.8K in the Neck. This set has a classic PAF bite and body but with just a little more heat in the bridge while the 12 pole open style design really brings out a very sparkly sound for a humbucker. With the treble bleed and the push/pull coil select you can achieve a variety of single coil vintage sounds besides the 2 humbuckers classic sounds. Push-Pull volume knob controls the coil select on both the Bridge and Neck Pickup so you can get 2 single coil positions and an additional humbucker position. Overall an versatile pickup/control combination with an emphasis on achieving a crisp HH thing with bite and snarl but also a responsive delicate touch depending on how you dial in the various controls. Switchcraft output and toggle. CTS pots and cloth wires. I really like these oversized stereo knobs, great feel and they just look cool.
